Michelle is a yoga teacher based in South East London. She has been practicing yoga for 15 years. Her background is in primary school teaching. She also offers children’s and pregnancy yoga.
Yoga is such a key part of my life; it’s what I do to keep fit, to balance my mind and to help slow (a little!) the pace of London life. It also helps my breathing when I run and stretching after a long bike ride. Then there are the countless amazing people that I’ve met along my yoga journey so far. These are just some of the many reasons I love yoga and why I’m so happy to now be in a position to share my passion through teaching.
Technically my lifelong love of yoga, or at least Asana (the postures), began as a child while looking at my mum's yoga books…..I was very brave with inversions back then!
After years of practice and non practice, I came back to yoga in a committed way once I understood the benefits for my mind as well my body. From this point, the Asana was no longer my key goal but a vehicle to reach it.
With this in mind I now endeavor to practice with kindness to myself, without worrying about what may have happened during prior practices, what’s happening on the mats around me or being posted by the Instagram yogis.
After working as a primary school teacher in the UK and Australia, I was drawn back to yoga with a desire to use my teaching experience in a new environment.
My classes have a sense of fun and take place in a safe and encouraging environment. There is a strong emphasis on alignment and the anatomical. Through my teaching, I want to share my love of yoga by tailoring it to meet individual's needs and wishes. Expect to leave my classes feeling confident, empowered and relaxed.
